Head Shed at Vibrant Life Farms, Loveland, Colorado

Raised the “head shed” (a permanent latrine – “utility shed” as far as the neighbors are concerned) today.
A couple years ago, I talked to Basira about wanting there to be a place where drumming around a fire was something that could happen, like the drumcircle fires that used to happen in my yard, and earlier the Boulder Pagan Alliance drum frenzies at Warren’s & Morgan’s place. She was receptive, but there was a lot of work to do. I kind of freaked out and didn’t follow through, but apparently it was a spark. There were others (with a lot more follow-through) who were enrolled in the project. Over the last couple years, but especially in the last year, some folks from Covenant of the River of Ft Collins, and others, started working on clearing rocks from the space, building a stone fire pit, and building a shed from pallets on the site.
I spent Easter Sunday with my friend Pat Cain building the front and back walls.
Since then, Pat built the side walls himself, and today we raised the walls and put the roof on it.
Afterwards we had a potluck with a drumming around the firepit afterwards. These pictures and videos were taken by myself and Shiloh, Basira’s wife.
One of my hobbies is making things by melting down plastic jugs and
shaping them into things like claves. These are some sticks I made for a
friend to play bhodran. She didn’t make it to the drumming, but I got to
show off my work today.
I walked around on the land before we started work

When Pat arrived, we got to work. This is the first wall raised
The completed Work.
Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures during the drumming, I guess I was too busy playing.
